On the Staff Team, we like to be as clear and fair to our users as possible. That means that we must have one consistent and fair way to judge all of the rules. There are many moderators on the Forums, so we have created the Discipline Table to ensure that we are all on the same page and have the same ideas when it comes to moderation.
The Discipline Table covers most of the rules on the Forums and what we do when we find that someone has broken them. Each time you break a rule, the sanction on your account becomes more serious. It starts with flagging. Then, it goes to a warning. If you continue to break the rules, you will be silenced, suspended and finally banned.
Each offence stays on your account for a set amount of time. If you break the rule again in that time, we will move up the discipline table with your punishment. However, if that period has passed and you have had no more sanctions on your account in the period since then, it will be removed from the record and you get a fresh start.

Abusing the Discipline Table #
It is unacceptable to abuse the discipline table. This is when you systematically break multiple different rules for the sake of avoiding punishment on a single one. Or, when you wait until the sanction is cleared from your account and then break the same rule again.
If we have reason to believe that you are abusing the discipline table by breaking multiple different rules, we will place a sanction on your account equivalent to the most serious rule that you broke.
For example, if you derailed topics, overused inappropriate language and had hate speech in a post, we would judge you as if you used hate speech multiple times.
On the other hand, we have recently included “Abusing the Discipline Table” as an offence. This is for users who wait until their offence has been cleared before committing it again. If you do this, we will follow the table as usual.
